Greetings!

I'm an award winning composer and pianist.

The American Prize

Several of my concert works have achieved Finalist status from The American Prize, one earned Honorary Mention in 2015, and I was awarded a Special Judges' Citation in 2018.

My instrumental music catalogue includes works for solo piano and other solo instruments, various chamber ensembles, string and full orchestra, and a clarinet concerto. I've also written art songs and a wide variety of choral music — sacred and secular, in English and other languages, accompanied or a cappella; also, a 22-minute concert work for SATB choir and orchestra, and a two-hour opera for seven soloists, chorus, and 27-piece orchestra.

I'm always interested in new commission ideas. Do you have an idea and a budget? Contact me and let's discuss your project!

2023 news:

The thirteen solo piano pieces from my Whereas album are newly edited and now available as single-song PDF downloads! Find them on Sheet Music Plus, where you can preview all pages while listening to the recordings. I will post more of my music there soon. Stay tuned.

2021 and 2022 news:

I worked on several original music ideas and projects during the covid lockdown. I also continued to do music transcription, engraving, arranging, and score and parts preparation for clients.

2020 news:

• Oregon Catholic Press published my sacred choral anthem The Light on the Hill (SATB / piano). It's available from OCP as octavos or digital download reprint license. Included are the anthem version, a hymn version with chord symbols, and an assembly edition (words and melody only). You can preview the entire score on the OCP website, and you can hear a full length, high quality recording of the anthem version on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, or Google Play.

• William Averitt, Josh Harris, and I were the three guest composers at the Missouri State University Music Composition Festival in February 2020. My performed works were Wise Words of Love (women's chorus / piano, nine movements, Shakespeare texts) and Field Report: News from Rural Oregon (clarinet / piano, four movements).

• Jason Iannuzzi conducted my choral setting of the poem Pied Beauty (SATB a cappella) in the Mixed Voice, Medium-Advanced reading session at the ACDA Eastern Division conference in March 2020 in Rochester, NY.
